BETTY MARIANI obituary

Betty C. Mariani, 74, of Havre died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Cremation has taken place. Betty's memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will

follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the St. Jude Parish Center immediately after the services at the graveside.

Betty was born May 7, 1930, in Poplar to Gordon and Esther (Lauridsen) Rodewald. She was raised and educated in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School. She moved to Havre to attended Northern Montana College.

Betty married Michael J. Mariani July 26, 1950, in Havre. They lived in Havre and raised their four children. Betty graduated from Northern Montana College in 1971 with her LPN. She went to work for the Havre Clinic where she worked for many years as Dr. Jim Elliott's nurse.

Betty enjoyed knitting, bridge, bowling, spending time at the cabin in the Bear Paw Mountains, gardening and her cat. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved attending all of their activities and was very proud of each and every one of them and all of their accomplishments.

Betty and Mike celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 26, 2000, at their cabin in the Bear Paw Mountains. Their children hosted this milestone event for them. Betty was very proud to celebrate 50 years of marriage with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Michael J. Mariani of Havre; daughter, Micki (Stanley) Lund of Havre; sons, Michael (Norma) Mariani of Havre, Steve (Julie) Mariani of Havre and Tony (Stephanie) Mariani of Boise, Idaho; sisters, Rhoda (Richard) Meyers of Tioga, N.D., Marge (James) Shanks of Brockton and Mavis Loegerin of Poplar; brother, Gordon (Evelyn) Rodewald of Whitefish; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandsons.

Memorials in Betty's honor may be made to the St. Jude School Education Trust, 624 Fourth St., Havre, Montana 59501, or to The Gift of Life Housing, P.O. Box 7008, Great Falls, MT 59406-7008.

Arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
