H. LOUIS CLACK Obituary

H. Louis Clack, 86, of Havre died on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at the family home.

A memorial service will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Box Elder on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. A remembrance hour will be held at the Havre Elks Club from 4 p.m.

to 5 p.m. Thursday. Please enter the Elks using the north entrance.

He was born in Havre on Dec. 8, 1918, to Alice Hall Clack and Weaver D. Clack. He grew up in Havre and attended local schools, including Montana State University-Northern. He received a degree in business administration from the University of Montana, where he affiliated with Phi Sigma Kappa. He was in the Navy in World War II and served overseas in the first overseas repair facility in Espirito Santo in the New Hebrides Islands.

Louis married Elinor Larson in Missoula in 1956. After college graduation, Clack returned to Havre and was affiliated with the H. Earl Clack Co. When the company was sold to Husky Oil of Cody, Wyo., he had become district manager of the area from Glasgow east to include North and South Dakota. After resigning from Husky, Clack returned to Montana and farmed his parent's homestead southwest of Havre. Initially he entered the egg business and won several awards for fine quality. He had been retired for several years, but continued to live on the family homestead.

Clack is a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church and B.P.O.E. He also belonged to the V.F.W. He was a charter member of the Sands Animal Care Foundation and served as president for many years.

Clack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Clack in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Charles Clack, who died while in high school;

Survivors include his wife, Elinor Clack of Havre; daughter, Jeanette Louise (Jerome) Sabolik of Monument, Colo.; two grandchildren at Monument, Colo.; and brother, Robert Clack of Texas and Geneseo, Ill.

Memorials may be sent to St. Anthony's Children Center in Box Elder or to the Clack Memorial Foundation.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
