LESTER RUSETTE obituary

ROCKY BOY - Lester Harold Russette, 63, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital in Billings of natural causes.

His wake service will begin at 2 p.m. today at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church with his funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, also at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Russette Family Cemetery.

Lester was born Sept. 1, 1941, in Fort Belknap to Mike and Helen (Champagne) Russette. He lived in Rocky Boy most of his life, attending schools there. He obtained his GED in 1970. He attended Northern Montana College for a short time, before he transferred to obtain his automotive certificate in 1974 at the Lincoln Technical Center in Lincoln, Neb. Lester worked various jobs and learned many trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical and auto mechanics. In his later years he worked as a transportation driver for Indian Health Services. He always enjoyed visiting with his clients whom he transported and looked forward to driving on the long-distance transports.

Lester enjoyed fishing and was an accomplished guitar player. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; William "Tiny" Russette and Walter Russette; and sisters, Leota Caplette and Wanda Martin.

Survivors include his daughters, Janette Bell of Rocky Boy and Sylvia Russette of Billings; son, Mike Russette of Rocky Boy; brothers, James (Bernice) Russette, Gene (Frances) Russette, Calvin (Carol) Russette and Duce (LaRae) Russette, all of Rocky Boy; sisters, Erma Racine of Browning, Pauline (Joey LaMere) Russette of Rocky Boy, and Loretta Russette and Madeliva Russette both of Rocky Boy; numerous grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
