Floy Alberta Cannon, 89, of Havre died at the Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes Friday, March 25, 2005.
A viewing for family and friends will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with
the Rev. John Powell officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church immediately after the graveside service.
Floy was born Dec. 10, 1915, in Nodaway, Iowa, to John and Bessie Lacox. She attended schools in Iowa and Hogeland.
In 1937 she married Rollie Cannon in Chinook. The couple lived in many areas of Montana and moved to Havre in 1956.
Floy worked as a nurse's aide while raising her family. She volunteered her time to the Senior Companion organization until 2002. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, sewing and spiritual object lessons. She was a charter member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Havre.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rollie; daughter, Marlene Barrick; brother, Dean Lacox, and great-grandchild, Brandon Cannon.
Survivors include her sons, Milan (Connie) Cannon and Richard (Lyn) Cannon, all of Vashon, Wash.; sisters, Florence Snider of Chinook, Beverly Billings of Great Falls and Hazel Allen of Havre; brother, Aaron (Ruth) Lacox of Hogeland; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren ; six great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in her name to the North Central Senior Citizens Center, 2 Second St. W., Havre, MT 59501; New Beginnings Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, 310 South Dell, Havre, MT 59501; or to a charity of one's choice.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.'
