JACK ANGELL obituary

BIG SANDY - Jack C. Angell, 84, a resident of Big Sandy and a former conductor for the Great Northern and Burlington Northern railways, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Big Sandy Medical Center of natural causes.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Catharine Card and officers and members of

Havre Lodge 55 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.

Jack was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Arlington, S.D., to Carl and Agnes Angell. At a young age, he moved to Havre where he graduated from high school. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in World War II, where he received several citations.

On Nov. 28, 1942, he married the love of his life, Sybil Winguard, and was married for 51 years. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1993.

Jack worked for the railroad for 40 years. Upon his retirement, he spent his winters in Mesa, Ariz., returning to Montana in the spring. Due to health reasons for the past 12 years, Jack moved to Big Sandy where he was close to family and friends. He was a very quiet man who was very supportive of his family - showing them respect, concern and love for them as he did for his country.

He was an avid bowler, golfer, and CNN News watcher. He belonged to Havre Lodge 55 AF&AM, VFW, and the Elks Club. Perhaps his favorite pastime was to argue politics to keep his nieces and nephews up on current events of the nation.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and his brother, Don.

Survivors include his sisters, Farrell Jamison of Woomsockett, S.D., Joyce Franzic of Kalispell and Joanne Williams of Big Sandy; and several nieces and nephews.
