MISSOULA - Kenneth Eugene Hickethier, 50, of Missoula died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at St. Patrick Hospital with his family at his side. He died due to injuries suffered in a fall.

A Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Parish, with a reception to follow in Reidy Hall. A rosary service will

take place today at Garden City Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Cremation has taken place.

Kenneth was born June 22, 1937, to Kenneth and Alice Hickethier in Havre. He graduated from St. Jude's Catholic grade school, Havre Central High School and the University of Montana, and received his master's degree from Pacific Coast Banking School.

He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Marie Beach, on Dec. 27, 1958. They lived in Havre and moved to Missoula in 1961. He was employed by the First Bank System, retiring after 29 years. He managed First Bank Southside the last five years of his employment. He then obtained his real estate broker license and worked at MarWest Properties.

Ken enjoyed many years working with youth as Mt. Sentinel Little League president, and with Junior Achievers and the Missoula Optimist Club.

He served on the Loyola Sacred Heart board and managed the Bash Office for numerous years and continued to solicit contributions from the banking community. Most recently, he served on the Board of the Big Sky Lake homeowners association. He was a past member of the Elks Club and Knights of Columbus. He was the recipient of the Carroll College Alumni Association distinguished service award in December 1969.

He cherished life - was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter and a loyal Griz and Lady Griz fan. His grandchildren were the love of his life and he spent as much time as possible at Big Sky Lake.

Ken was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Kenton, Jeff and Keith; daughter, Jill; daughters-in-law, Julie, Kim and Dian; son-in-law, Aaron Ferguson; six granddaughters; two grandsons; mother, Alice Darby, sister, Elaine McKenzie; and brother, Jerry Hickethier.
