JACK PETERSON obituary

Jack Gordon Peterson, 57, of Havre died at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City on Friday, March 11, 2005, due to complications following a heart transplant.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church followed by a graveside service with military honors at Highland Cemetery. A

luncheon will follow at the church.

Jack was born July 4, 1947, at Havre to Helen and Arnold Peterson.

Jack was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Army from June 14, 1967 through Jan. 15, 1969 with the 167th Signal Company. After his discharge, he worked for a time as a lineman for the Burlington Northern Railway, then for Ray's Upholstery for about 18 years.

He was a graduate of Hanson's Automotive Trade School in Fargo, N.D.

Jack liked to work with wood and made furniture and yard ornaments. He also liked to work on cars, camp, fish, and spend time with his family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen (Metzger) Peterson.

Survivors include his father, Arnold, and stepmother, Alice Peterson; wife, Carolyn; sons, Gary and Tom (Beth) Peterson; stepsons, Cedro and Victor Hernandez; stepdaughters, Victoria (Kevin) Dumas and Connie (Henry) Duran; sisters, Edith (Galen) Tidrick, Charlis (Daniel) Carpenter, Hila (Dave) Stevens and Jody (Bruce) Lyons; brothers, Charles (Beverly) Peterson and Arnie Peterson; two grandchildren; and nine stepgrandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the VA Center in Salt Lake City.
