CHARLOTTE HERTSGAARD obituary

Charlotte Darlene (Vandeberg) Hertsgaard, 75, of Havre died of natural causes Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Benefis East Hospital in Great Falls.

Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in Havre with burial in Highland Cemetery.

Charlotte

was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Havre to Leonard and Caroline (Bundus) Vandeberg. She was raised in Havre and attended St. Jude's School and Havre High School.

On June 4, 1949, she married Jim Hertsgaard. They later separated. Charlotte worked several years for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph and Woolworth's in Havre.

She enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, rummage sales, collecting antiques, decorating her homes and painting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alice Bunton, Mary Ann Ness and Lois Erickson; brothers, Alfred and Walter Vandeberg; and grandson, Evin Thomas Hertsgaard.

Survivors include her son, Tom (Jeannie) Hertsgaard of San Marcos, Calif .; a daughter, Terry (Brian) Lilletvedt of Havre; sisters, Vivian (Jim) Sullins of Jackson, Miss., Rosella Gondor of Rancho Cordova, Calif., Shirley (Ivan) Nelson of Bellevue, Wash., and Sharon (Frank) Bennett of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; sister-in-law, Helen Vandeberg of Issaquah, Wash .; brothers, Elvin (Doris) Vandeberg of Tacoma, Wash., and Don (Dolly) Vandeberg of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; grandchildren, Jamie (Lee) Corcoran of Hemet, Calif., Amber Hertsgaard of Oceanside, Calif., Dain Hertsgaard of San Marcos, Calif., and Jake Lilletvedt of Havre; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Charlotte's honor may be made to the North Central Senior Citizens Center.
