MISSOULA/ROCKY BOY - Carol Lynn Hernandez, 57, of Missoula died Friday, March 4, 2005, at a Missoula Hospital due to natural causes.
A wake service began Sunday afternoon with the rosary service Sunday evening at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church. Her funeral service was scheduled for 10 a.m.
today at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with the Rev. Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial was to follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery.
Carol was born June 14, 1947, in Watsonville, Calif., to Arnold and Agnes (Lafromboise) Lopez. She attended schools in Watsonville.
She married George Soto Hernandez in 1978 at Los Angeles, Calif., and the couple raised five children. In 1990, Carol moved to Rocky Boy and attended Stone Child College for two years. Then she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and eventually to Missoula.
Carol was a great volunteer. She volunteered much of her time to the Boys & Girls Club of the Bear Paws at Rocky Boy. She loved being with the children. She enjoyed cooking, baking and being with her family and friends. Her nickname was Gabby because she talked so much. In her younger years, Carol enjoyed being with her friends and having a great time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Agnes Lopez; brother, Eloy Lopez; and children, Eloyis and Eloy Hernandez.
Survivors include her children, George Michael Hernandez Jr. of Spokane, Wash., Esequiel C. Hernandez of Missoula, Isels Juanita Hernandez of Los Angeles, Calif., Ryan Danella Hernandez of Missoula and Talisha Lopez of Freemont, Calif .; brother, Charles Lopez of Freemont, Calif .; sisters, Juanita Lopez of Missoula, Gloria Flores of Rocky Boy, Alberta Lopez Ray of San Jose, Calif., Cidelia Lopez Ray of San Jose, Calif., and Sharon Lopez Richards of Hayward, Calif .; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
