NORMAN FRIEDE obituary

VICTOR - Norman Ray Friede, 69, of Victor died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at his home from cancer.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Daly-Leach Chapel with the Rev. Gregory Karlsgodt officiating. There will be a reception following the services in the

funeral home's community room.

He was born October l4, 1935 on the family farm in Chinook to Otto Walter Friede and Mary Kimsey Friede.

He was raised on the farm and graduated from Chinook High School in l955. Norm worked at the Chinook meat plant during high school. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy with

two of his friends in 1955 and served on the USS Twining. When discharged in 1959, he moved to Missoula and worked at the Van Evans plywood plant.

He met and married Lois Hawkins in 1961 and they moved to Lolo in 1962, where they had one daughter. While in Lolo, Norm began working in construction. He became a self-employed carpenter/contractor and was also a 4-H leader.

They moved to Victor in 1973, where he raised livestock, chickens, and other birds. Norm had a shop in which he built many different cabinets for friends and for the homes he built. He was hired as the plant manager for the Victor Sewer District in 1996 and retired Jan. 1, 2004.

Norm enjoyed riding his horse, fishing, boating, hunting and gardening. He shared his produce with neighbors and friends.

Norm was preceded in death

by his parents, Otto and Mary Friede; sisters, Evelyn Friede and Marjorie Feist and her husband Joe; brothers, Kenneth Friede, Neil Friede and Ray Friede.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Friede, Victor; daughter Terri (Jan) Evered of Victor; a granddaughter and grandson; a great-grandson; sisters, Dorothy Molyneaux of Havre and Donna (Melvin) Anderson of Chinook; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Friede of Chinook; brothers, Lloyd (Ruth) Friede of Chinook, Harry (Julia) Friede of Chinook, MT, Gordon (Pat) Friede of Lovell, Wyo., and Glenn (Lynette) Friede of Chinook; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be made in Norm's name to the Community Oncology Benefit Inc., P.0. Box 1064, Corvallis, MT 59828.
