ANTONIO REGO obituary

ROCKY BOY - Antonio P. Rego, 74, died at his home in Rocky Boy with his family by his side on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, after a long illness.

A wake service began Friday at 1 p.m. with his funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, all at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with the Rev. Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial with full military honors was to follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery.

Antonio was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Antonio and Candida (Pascual) Rego. When he was a young boy, he moved with his family to Tampa, Fla., where he was raised and educated. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He retired after serving for 20 years.

He married Mary Jane Demontiney on April 8, 1958, in Tacoma, Wash. The family moved to California, and then Honolulu, Hawaii, where he retired. He moved to Long Mont, Colo., and worked for the FAA for a few years and retired in 1989. In 1989, they moved to Bozeman, where they lived until Mary passed away in 1995. Antonio moved to Rocky Boy to be close to his family in 2001.

Antonio enjoyed football, watching television, reading the paper and working crossword puzzles. He liked to eat candy and cookies, spend time with his family, and joke around with them. He was a very attentive listener, and a very good organizer because everything has to have its place.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary, in 1995; two sons; and one daughter.

Survivors include his children, Lorraine Pegram of Great Falls, Antonette Rego of Rosscommon, Mich., and Daryl Wright of Rocky Boy; special granddaughter, Lena (Gina) Wright, who took care of him during his illness; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
