MICHELLE PLAIN FEATHER obituary

Michelle Rae (Main) Plain Feather, 25, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, in an automobile accident at Lodge Pole.

A wake service will begin today at 7 p.m. in Chief Nosey Recreation Center at Lodge Pole with participation by the Fort Belknap Catholic Church and Lodge Pole Assembly of

God. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rhea Goes Ahead from the Full Gospel Revival Tabernacle in Billings officiating.

Michelle was born to Glenda "Bea" Has The Eagle of Lodge Pole and Douglas "Tiny" Main Sr. of Malta on Sept. 3, 1979, at Fort Belknap Indian Health Service.

Michelle met her first and only true love, Nathaniel Ross Plain Feather, at the age of 12 and was married to him on May 23, 1998. Michelle and Nathaniel have three beautiful daughters: Maxine Adeline Plain Feather, Trinity Faith Plain Feather, and Madison Mae Plain Feather. She loved her husband and children dearly and wanted the best for them.

Michelle lived in Billings, Bismarck, N.D., Rapid City, S.D., and spent most of her life in her favorite place, Lodge Pole. Michelle was a homemaker, but held jobs as a personnel assistant in Billings and for the Fort Belknap Tribe. She also worked at Fort Belknap Kwik Stop, Zortman Kalamity Kafe, Fort Belknap REZ Restaurant, and finished rookie firefighting school. Michelle finished her GED studies, except for her math, and was looking forward to finishing and going to college.

Michelle enjoyed attending Christian Church services throughout her life. She treasured her faith and love for Jesus Christ. She believed in the Scripture of God's holy word, yet she still maintained respect for the Indian way and other religions as well.

Michelle loved to dance to rap/hip hop music with her husband, Ross. They won several trophies and awards for dance contests. She could always be found jamming to loud rap/hip hop music. She loved to be with her family. She was always teasing and joking around with everyone. Michelle, her husband and her daughters had a very tight-knit relationship with Dennis and Beverly Huber family in Billings. She always spoke very highly of them and considered them to be her family in Billings when away from her family of Fort Belknap. She loved them dearly and they impacted her family greatly.

Michelle was preceded in death by her brother in the Indian way, Mike Main; grandmother, Maxine Has The Eagle; great-grandmother, Victoria (Bull Cap) Has The Eagle; and grandfather, Arthur "Buck" Swan.

Survivors include her siblings, Iris Main of Havre, Vernie "Boo-Boo" Main of Fort Belknap, Julia Mills and Darcy Mills, both of Lodge Pole, Allison Main, Nicole Main, Douglas Main and Kyle Main, all of Seattle, Wash.; stepfather, Steve Mills of Arizona.
