Carrol Louise Oedewaldt, 74, a bookkeeper and clerk from Shelby, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at her home due to natural causes.

A funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Shelby with burial in the Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation was to be one hour

before service time at the church.

Carrol was born June 20, 1930, at Havre to Howard and Helen (Swartout) Davidson. She was raised near Kremlin and also lived part time in California, where her father did seasonal construction work.

Carrol married Vern Hunt Nov. 7, 1953, at Shelby. They later divorced. She married James Oedewaldt Dec. 4, 1972, at Las Vegas, and they resided in Shelby. James died Nov. 7, 2003.

Carrol worked as a clerk for Duncan's Ladies Apparel and the Ben Franklin store for several years. She was the bookkeeper for Odie Construction, the family business, until her retirement.

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Carrol enjoyed playing marbles, visiting with her morning coffee crew and cheering for the Montana Grizzly football team. Most of all, she loved being around her family and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and special aunt, Erma Bradley.

Survivors include her daughters, Patti (Rick) Warburton of Shelby, Cyndy Frydenlund of Shelby, Tami (Bill) Waite of Osage, Wyo., and Linda (Curt) Henke of Shelby; son, Wayne Hunt of Helena and currently serving in Iraq with the armed forces; sisters, Nadine Starr of Lancaster, Calif., Charlotte Greensweight of Missoula and Teri Renick of Eagle Creek, Ore.; brother, Fred Davidson of Absarokee; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
