MARJORIE WILSON obituary

Marjorie Wilson, 74, died Jan. 27, 2005, at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in Chinook due to natural causes.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. in St. Jude's Catholic Church with burial following in Highland

Cemetery.

Marjorie was born on April 23,

1930, in Havre to Alex and Mary (Donahue) Stewart. She was raised on the family farm west of Box Elder and she attended school there. Marjorie attended Northern Montana College, taking secretarial courses.

Margie married Alvin "Bud" Wilson on Nov. 10, 1953, in Helena. They farmed and raised cattle in the Bear Paw Mountains south of Cleveland. They were very self-sufficient with a big garden, milk cow, chickens and hunting for most of their meat. The family moved to Fort Peck in 1961, when her husband began working for the Bureau of Reclamation. They returned to Havre a few years later. At Fort Peck, Margie learned to drive a car for the first time.

Many people knew Margie as the Avon lady and she received numerous awards for her dedication and service to the company. Due to failing health, she became a resident of Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in May of 1998.

Her husband, Bud Wilson, preceded her in death in February 1994.

Survivors include her son, Calvin D. Wilson of Agnaco, Colo .; daughters, Marilyn Early of Katy, Texas, and Gayle Ann Cooper-Creek of Longview, Wash .; brother, James Stewart of Havre; sisters, Agnes Deppel of Butte and Jeannie Whitemore of Oregon; half-sister, Katherine Rosey of Twin Lakes, Idaho; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
