RACE L. BAY obituary

Grace L. Bay, 87, a longtime resident of Havre, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.

Viewing for Grace will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brad Ulgenes officiating. A private family burial will be held.

Grace was born Nov. 7, 1917 to Claude and Selma (Peterson) Allen in Havre. She was raised in Havre and attended school there. In January of 1936 Grace married Henry "Andy" Bay. The couple made their home in Havre and had one daughter, Sharon.

The Bays operated the Liberty Hotel. Later they opened the North Side Bar and in 1960 built Andy's Supper Club. Andy and Grace retired in 1974. They continued to live in Havre and also enjoyed traveling.

Grace was a member of the Degree of Honor Association. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, traveling and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband , who died in 1992.

Grace is survived by her two sisters, Charlotte Ray of Big Sandy and Leone Kelly of Helena; daughter, Sharon Hary of Havre; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Grace's honor may be made to a memorial of one's choice. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
