CHINOOK - Viola M. (Simenson) Gallus, 91, a homemaker, died of natural causes Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at her home in Chinook.
A funeral Mass will be today at 11 a.m. in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery.
Viola was born Nov. 12, 1913, to Simeon O. and Anna J. (Ring) Simenson in Minnehaha County, S.D. She was raised in Pipestone, Minn., where she attended school.
Viola attended St. Olaf's College in St. Paul, Minn., where she met Edward J. Gallus, who was attending dental school at the University of Minnesota. They were married in Minneapolis, Minn. on June 15, 1936. They moved to Edward's home state of Montana, where Edward practiced dentistry for 48 years.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward, in 1991, and two sister, Luella McCorquodale and Myrtle Ekfelt, both of Minnesota.
She is survived by her children: Donald E. (Bonnie) Gallus, Robert C. (Anna Marie) Gallus, James S. Gallus, all of Chinook; Patricia A. (John) Gray of Tumwater, Wash., and Michael L. (Linda) Gallus of Geelong, Australia; and eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to St. Gabriel's Catholic Church or to Sweet Medical Center.
Arrangments are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
