Mary Carol Malsam, 90, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.
A prayer vigil and rosary service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert D. Grosch officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the St. Jude Parish Center immediately after the funeral. Burial will be at the Cottonwood Cemetery north of Havre at 2:30 p.m.
Mary was born Dec. 25, 1914, at the family farm north of Havre to Louis and Emily (Gerky) Marsden. She was raised and educated north of Havre and attended Miller School.
On Oct. 29, 1935, she married Joe Malsam in Havre. The couple made their home north of Havre on the farm and raised five sons. Mary worked on the farm with her husband, and enjoyed riding horses and gardening. She was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church and the Franciscan Order.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Malsam, in 1985; two sisters, Marge and Delores; and one brother, Art.
Mary is survived by a brother, Louis; sons, Joe (Darlene) of Chinook, Don (Dianne) of Billings, LeRoy (Leslie) of Great Falls, Gary (Carla) of Fairview, and Ricky (Jody) of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
