Ella May Rowin, 92, died Friday, Dec, 24, 2004, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at the Holland & Bonine Chapel. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship will follow at the Vets Club immediately after the graveside service.
Ella was born Dec. 6, 1912, in Larimore, N.D., to Howard and May (Weston) Cady. She was raised in the Sweet Grass Hills north of Joplin, where she attended schools. When she was 16 years old, she married Melvin Erickson. The couple had seven children. In 1952 she married Howard Rowin and they had four children.
Ella's hobbies included playing pinochle, knitting, watching the animals on her farm and visiting with all her family.
She was a member of the Salvation Army Church and participated in their Home League and summer camps for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and May Cady; two daughters, Donna Roberts and Charlene Rowin, a granddaughter, Roxanne Shelstad, and two great grandchildren, Nathan Green and Clayton Morse.
Ella is survived by her husband of 52 years, Howard Rowin of Havre; daughters, Phyllis Christopherson of Havre, Willa (Ken) Kooch of Havre, Doris (Bob) Bishop of Great Falls, Betty (Bill) Hafner of Havre, Laura Hafner of Havre, Sue Roberts of Havre; sons, Melvin (Tammy) Erickson of Havre, Dave Rowin of Havre, and Ron Rowin of Havre; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 13 great -great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Ella's honor may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box, 418 Havre, MT 59501.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
