HINGHAM - Shirley Arlys Scheuerman, 80, of Hingham died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at her residence of natural causes.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Gildford with the Rev. Eddie Fallo officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary

Cemetery in Havre. A fellowship luncheon will be held at 2 p.m. at the church.

Shirley Arlys Scheuerman was born on March 30, 1924, to Arnold and Sylvia (Myers) Hanson in Artichoke, Minn. She moved to Montana with her family as a young girl. They settled north of Gildford. Shirley attended school at the North Gildford country school and then graduated from Gildford High School in 1942.

On December 16, 1942, Shirley married Reuben Harley Scheuerman, and they moved to Kremlin. In 1946 they moved to Hingham, and Reuben went to work for Arnold Hanson, his father in-law. Shirley worked in the house and was a companion to Reuben ever since they met.

Shirley enjoyed sewing, any kind of needlework, and ceramics. She had collections of glass bottles, jars and spoons.

She was a lifetime member of the Gildford Baptist Church and had been very active in all phases of the church. She was a member of the Jolly Janes Homemakers Club, Gildford American Legion Auxiliary, Gildford School PTA when Joyce and Junior were in school. Shirley was most passionate about her family and her church, and also being a "great" grandmother.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Willis.

Survivors include her husband, Reuben Scheuerman, of Hingham; daughter, Joyce (Noel) Preeshl of Gildford; son, Reuben Jr. (Karen) Scheuerman of Havre; brothers, Dean Hanson and Delmar Hanson; grandchildren, Noela Donoven, Steve, Bryan, and Bret Preeshl, Wendy Schweitzer, Kari Riley, Katy Fritz; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Gildford First Baptist Church or to a memorial of one's own choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
