ROSE TIETEMA obituary

POLSON - Rose Daisy (Bostic) Tietema, 102, of Polson died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell from natural causes.

Visitation was held Sunday at the Grogan Funeral Home. A funeral service was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church. Interment was to fol-

low at Lakeview Cemetery. A reception was to follow the graveside services at the church hall.

She was born in Pipestone, Minn., on Dec. 23, 1901, to Ed and Margaret (Kaiser) Bostic.

She married John Henry Tietema on June 18, 1922, in Havre, and they lived there, where he was a federal inspector for the Great Northern Railway until his retirement. They moved to Shelby in 1957, where they opened and managed the O'Haire Manor. In the 1960s, they moved to Polson, where her beloved husband died on Dec. 20, 1967. Rose worked for the Polson School Food Services until she was 85.

Rose's whole life was one of selfless devotion to her family, church and community. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Rose's family and faith were what got her through.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and son, George.

Survivors include her children, Sidney (Carol) Tietema of Polson, John (Donna) Tietema of Kalispell, Florence Beck of Polson, Margaret Ramsey of Fife, Wash., and Kenneth (Nora) Tietema of Great Falls; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
