Rocky Boy - Henry Wolfchild Sr. 65, whose Indian Name was Pe-wah-pis-k-ko-yah-wi-t, meaning Iron Body, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at the Rocky Boy Clinic of natural causes.

His wake service began Saturday and continued through Sunday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at Rocky Boy. His funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m. today, also at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Burial was to follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery.

Henry was born Aug. 6, 1940, in Rocky Boy to Wolfchild and Short Arms. He was raised and educated in Rocky Boy, attending Parker

School. He attended mechanics college in Wyoming and returned to Rocky Boy after graduating. He went to work for

Angstman Motors in Havre. He

also worked as a school bus driver and was a food service driver for the senior citizens center. Henry served as a tribal judge for two years.

Henry married Mary Cantrell on Aug. 4, 1969, at Rocky Boy Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Rocky Boy and raised their eight children.

Henry was a Native American singer and traveled to many powwows, singing traditional Native American songs. He collected old coins as a hobby. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He would sing to his grandchildren and teach them Cree. Henry was a very quiet, kind man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wolfchild and Short Arms; and sister, Alice Yellow Wolf.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Wolfchild of Rocky Boy; daughters, Vivian Vazquez of Box Elder, Relda Edmo of Fort Hall, Idaho, Nida Parker of Rocky Boy, Bernadine Wolfchild of Rocky Boy and Mary Small of Rocky Boy; sons, Benny Wolfchild of Blackfoot, Idaho, Henry Wolfchild Jr. of Rocky Boy, Thomas Wolfchild of Rocky Boy and Timothy Wolfchild of Rocky Boy; sisters, Hazel Eagleman of Rocky Boy, Carol Mosquito of Saskatchewan, Canada, and Frances Fisher of Fort Hall, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
