FORT BELKNAP - Douglas "Lil Doug" R. Snell, Jr., 22, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Fort Belknap Agency due to a history of illness since child hood.
A funeral service will be Thursday
at 11 a.m. in the Red Whip Center with burial following in the Hi-way Cemetery. A wake and rosary will begin Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the center.
Douglas was born Dec. 14, 1981, at Fort Belknap Agency to Douglas R. Snell Sr. and Karen Clark. He attended schools in Harlem and graduated from Harlem High School in 2001. Dougie like to play the Keno machines, do jigsaw puzzles, volunteer for the Veterans Powwow bingo and play bingo. He enjoyed sports and participated in them until his health worsened. Most of all he loved to tease a person, that was a way of life with him. He volunteered for community services and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Karen E. Clark; grandfathers, Paul Clark and George "Bush" Snell Sr.; five aunts; and six uncles.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Doug Sr. and Paula Snell of Fort Belknap; sisters, Barbara Lodge of Hays, Laura Clark, Debbie Snell, Randi Snell, Starla and Skyla Lindermulder, all of Fort Belknap; stepsister, Tara Tennant of Miles City; brothers, Richard Nicholson of Great Falls and Loren Snell of Babb; stepbrother, Kyle Tennant of Miles City; maternal grandparents, Erma Grey Bear and Terrance Jackson; parental grandmother, Ruby Talks Different; nine aunts; 13 uncles.
