JOHN PAUL TOURTLOTTE obituary

BIG SANDY - John Paul Tourtlotte, 51, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, from complications of pneumonia at Big Sandy Medical Center.

A funeral service was scheduled for today at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Glasgow with the Rev. Martin Mock officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

A memorial service will also be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Havre.

John was born Feb. 1, 1953, in Glasgow. During his early years in Glasgow, he attended a special-needs preschool at First Lutheran Church. The ensuing years were spent in Boulder, where he attended school and learned sign language. Later, he moved to Havre, where he lived for nearly 30 years. He lived for the past two years at Big Sandy Medical Center because of failing health.

Through the Havre Day Activity Center, John became fondly known by the local merchants and he participated in many group activities.

John had many friends and will long be remembered for his fun-loving sense of humor and his affectionate personality. He loved life, especially the outdoors. Western hats and boots were among his favorite things. John enjoyed music, especially playing his harmonica and guitar.

He was fond of car rides and loved going home for visits with his family.

Johnny will be fondly remembered by his many friends at Havre Day Activity Center and at Big Sandy Medical Center.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Helen Tourtlotte, and his brother, James.

Survivors include his sisters, Dr. Julie Brous of Bigfork and Jane Borsvold of Phoenix, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Havre Day Activity Center in Havre.

Bell Mortuary was in charge of arrangments.
