Juanita L. Christiansen, 70, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at Peace Hospice Home in Great Falls of natural causes.
Her funeral service will be 2
p.m. Thursday at Fifth Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Rowlie Hutton officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately after the graveside service.
Juanita was born in Eugene, Ore., to Tom and Lucille Stimson. She moved to Havre as a young child with her family. She married Donald Christiansen on Aug. 18, 1950, in Chinook. They were blessed with six children: Karen, Marion, Dawn, Cheri, Ben and Kevin. They lived in Havre and raised their family there.
Juanita enjoyed sewing, a craft she taught to her daughters. She was a great knitter. She took pride in having made a sweater for each of her grandchildren.
Juanita's greatest joy was having her whole family gathered together for holidays and birthday dinners. Juanita made sure nobody went without a birthday cake. Juanita also loved her coffee sessions with her numerous friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Donald Christiansen; brothers Donald, George and Pat; and a sister, Phyllis.
Juanita is survived by her daughters, Karen (John) Larson of Helena, Marion (Dan) Schaub of Havre, Dawn (David) Arensmeyer of Havre, Cheri (Mick) Linderman of Havre; sons, Ben and Kevin Christiansen of Havre; brothers, Tom, Bob and Charley Stimson of Arizona, and John Stimson of Washington; sister Virginia Bennett of Oregon; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
