FLORENCE, Ore. - Frank E. Bergren Jr., 77, of Florence, Ore., died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, of cancer.
A private service is to be held at Willamette National Cemetery.
Frank was born on Dec. 268, 1928, at Havre to Frank and Helen Bergren. He grew up on his father's ranch in Hogeland. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman as a civil engineer.
Frank worked for the U.S. government and enjoyed helping build wildlife preserves.
He belonged to several conservationist groups and was a 24-year member of A.A. He enjoyed his family, fishing, playing cards and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Better; first wife and mother of his children, Barbara Krsul of Newport, Ore.; children, Suzanne Finley of Seattle, Lauree Wright of Portland, Ore., Frank E. Bergren III, Muscat, Oman, Andrew Bergren, Portland, Ore., and Cheryl Ditton, Littleton, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Helen McGuire of Chinook, Eloise Hern of Seattle and Vernice Doughten of Chinook; brother, Bernard Bergren of Havre; and many nieces and nephews.

Burns's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
