JOSEPH BROUGH obituary

Joseph Henry Brough, 73, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

Viewing will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church with

the Rev. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery.

Joseph was born on Dec. 3, 1930, in Havre to Clarence A. and Victoria (Trotchie) Brough. He was raised and educated in Havre and attended St. Jude School. He graduated from Havre High School in 1949.

After high school, he went to work for Ed Donahue as a carpenter. Later he went to work for Orvin Kjorli building houses. Joe then started his own business building homes and specializing in finish carpentry, such as kitchen cabinets, vanities and gun cabinets.

On Sept. 1, 1951, Joe married Sally Harden in Lewistown. They were married for 38 years. The couple made their home on a small ranch east of Havre. Joe raised cattle his entire life in Havre and in Brough's Coulee in the Bear's Paw Mountains.

Joe enjoyed playing the guitar, gardening, raising cattle and coin collecting. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally in 1985; brothers, Alvin, James, Lawrence and John Brough; and sister, Stella.

Survivors include his children, Steve (Dixie) Brough, Susie (Tom) Leonard, James (Kathy) Brough, Jana (Nick) Goebel, and Shannon (Leon) LaSalle, all of Havre; special friend, Rose Keck of Havre; and 10 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the North Central Senior Citizens Center, 2 W. Second St., Havre, MT 59501.
