IGNACIO JASMINE obituary

Ignacio Andaya Jasmine, 94, died on Oct. 22, 2004, in Spokane Valley, Wash.

A memorial service is being planned for the spring of 2005 in Great Falls.

Jasmine was born in Villasis Pangasinan, Philippines, in 1910. He came to the

United States at the age of 21. In 1942, he entered the U.S. Army and served overseas in Europe during World War II. He received several medals, including the Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Unit Award. He was discharged from the service in 1945 and began his career with Great Northern Railway as a fireman. He retired from the railroad in 1975 after 30 years of service.

He was a dedicated husband and father who adored his grandchildren. A very gentle man whose patient, kind, and easy going nature will be sorely missed.

He is preceded in death by his second wife of 39 years, Bersabe Jasmine, in 1998, and first wife of 13 years, Mavis Jasmine, in 1957.

Survivors include his daughters, Sharon (Tom) Armstrong of Johnson City, Texas, Linda (Jerry Yim) Jasmine of San Mateo, Calif.; Angelita (Howard) Wingett of Spokane, Wash., Rebecca (Jeremy Sauter) Jasmine of Beverly Hills, Calif.; son, Nash (Meri) Jasmine of Kent, Wash.; brothers, Teofilo Jasmin of Tinley Park, Ill., and Marcello Jasmin of the Philippines; sisters, Felicidad Jasmin and Juanita Jasmin, both of the Philippines; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; four stepchildren known affectionately as Tiny, Bud, Ed and Ted; and at least 16 more grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren from their families.
