JOANNE LUTES obituary

CHINOOK - Joanne M. Lutes, 73, died at her apartment in Chinook on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, due to cancer.

A memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the American Lutheran Church.

Joanne was born on June 10, 1931 in Chinook to John and Inez (Groven)

Betz. She was raised by her grandparents Halvor and Sophia Groven on the family ranch north of Chinook

due to her

mother's death when she was 2

years old.

Joanne graduated from Chinook High School in 1951 and worked in the Blaine County Courthouse before going to Seattle in 1957.

She worked for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle until her retirement.

She married Stephen Lutes on June 6, 1999, in Seattle.

Joanne enjoyed bowling, was close to her family in Seattle, but always had a love for Chinook

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband Stephen Lutes in 2002.

Survivors include her two aunts, Clara Barber Groven of Renton, Wash., and Molly Groven of Seattle, Wash.; and many cousins.

Memorials may be sent to the Bear Paw Hospice, American Lutheran Church or one's charity of choice.
