Elizabeth Anne Matelski, 62, a resident of Havre, died Tuesday Sept. 21, 2004, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Eagles Manor Community Room. Interment of
the remains will be held at a later date in Minnesota.
Betty was born on Nov. 5, 1941, at Little Fork, Minn., to William and Fannie (Manninen) Fors. The family lived near International Falls, where she attended school. She later obtained her GED.
Betty married Ernest Matelski on Jan. 30, 1975, in Sisseton, S.D. After their marriage the couple lived in Havre, where Betty worked as a CNA privately and at Westmont and at the Havre Day Activity Center.
Betty was an avid bowler and was a member of several leagues. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, her children and grandchildren. She also had a love for animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a half brother.
Betty is survived by her husband, Ernest Matelski of Havre; daughters, Brenda Hanson of Gresham, Ore., Kim Hanson, Dawn Hanson Harsh and Lisa Matelski, all of Havre; sons, Ken Hanson of Havre and Larry Hanson of Portland, Ore.; sister, Edith Darval of Minneapolis, Minn.; special friend, Joan Tviet of Warroad, Minn.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson.
Memorials may be made to a person's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
