VIVIAN ANDERSON obituary

HAYS - Vivian Leigh "Mousy" Babe Anderson, 40, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at her residence in Havre.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Recreation Center with burial following in St. Paul's Mission Cemetery. A wake and rosary will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in

St. Paul's Mission Recreation Center.

Cause of death is pending investigation by the Hill County Sheriff and Coroner's Office.

Vivian, a member of the Gros Ventre Tribe, was born on Jan. 23, 1964, to Thomas and Agnes Virginian Ruth (Iron Man Walking Chief) Manuel in Havre. She attended schools in Hays and Lodge Pole.

Vivian was a true Montana Indian Fire Fighter (MIFF). She loved to fight fire that was her favorite pastime. She fought fire for many years. She was a housekeeper at Northern Montana Hospital and local motels. Vivian also worked as a dry-cleaner and seismographer. She loved to go camping with her kids and friends.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two sons and a grandson.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Anderson of Havre; sons, Casey (Misty) Mummy of Havre, Thomas, Joseph, and Cody Anderson, all of Havre; brothers, Lee (Tyna) Manuel of Billings, Kim Norquay Sr. of Havre and Roberto Sanchez of Flandreau, S.D.; sisters, Rose Ann (Basil) Doney of Fort Belknap, Sandra (Dennis) Nelson of Billings, Cheryl Coblin of Boston, Mass., and Margaret Ann Murray of Deer Lodge; uncles, Joe (Alpha) Ironman of Lodge Pole and John "Foggy" (Vera) Ironman of Poplar; aunts, Bernadette Lodge, Helen Talks Different and Veronica Bear Cub, all of Harlem, Catherine Long Knife and Roberta Werk of Hays; adopted parents, Joe and Lou Kirkaldie; adopted brother, Robert (Margaret) Fox; adopted sisters, Elizabeth Fox, Katherine Fox and Mary Agnes (Joseph) Black Crow all of Hays, Rebecca (Raymond) Standing Bear of Billings, and Emery Champagne of Havre, who was special to her and always there for her; sister-in-law, Debbie Herbert of Provo, Utah; brothers-in-law, Larry (Dorothy) Anderson of Havre, Kenny (Jaque) Anderson of Columbus and Mark Anderson of Portland, Ore.; and mother-in-law, Alice Mapes of Havre.
