ALBERT LINCOLN obituary

KALISPELL - Albert "Al" Lincoln, 84, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Glacier Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Vic Langhans officating. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell.

Al was born on July 25, 1920 south of Inverness to Anna R. and Fred Lincoln. He was raised south of Inverness and worked on the family farm and ranch.

Al joined the Army Air Corps in 1941 and served in the 78th troop carrier squadron. He spent most of World War II in England, where he met his wife, Joan. They were married in 1945.

Al returned to Montana after the war, and he and Joan raised their family on the family farm and ranch. In 1977, they bought a home in the Flathead Valley and divided their time between their home and the family farm. Later, they spent their winters in California and then in Florida, where he spent time with raltives and also helped his son in the restaurant business.

All enjoyed playing golf and was forever fixing things. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anna Lincoln; and son, Jerome Lincoln in 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; son, Rodney (Kathryn) Lincoln of Zephyrhills, Fla.; daughter, Valerie (Gary) Gillies of Havre; brothers and sisters, Esther Lonergon of Omaha, Neb., Ray Lincoln of Great Falls, Charlie Lincoln of Shelby, Adelle Allessandroni of Greenwich, Conn., Lottie Bourdeau of Great Falls; and 15 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
