Sybil Sangrey-Colliflower Memorial Rodeo turning into one of biggest Indian rodeos in the nation

In its short history, the second annual Sybil Sangrey-Colliflower Memorial Rodeo gets bigger with each year. This past weekend, the rodeo featured over 900 entries from cowboys and cowgirls hailing from Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, California, Colorado, Florida and Canada.

According to Rocky Boy Rodeo Club President John C. Houle, the event is becoming one of the largest Indian rodeo's in North America in terms of contestants and prize money.

This year's rodeo featured over $90,000 in cash and prizes awarded between the adult and youth rodeo.

"We are already working to make next year's rodeo even bigger," Houle said.

Ryan Siemson of Billings took home all-around cowboy honors after capturing the long and short go-arounds in calf roping as well as the overall average. Siemson teamed with Charlie Lenning to finish second in the average in team roping.

Brittany Bird of Cut Bank was the top all-around cowgirl after winning the short go and the average in the ladies breakaway roping.
