HERBERT WILLIAMSON obituary

CHINOOK - Herbert M. Williamson, 97, of Chinook died on Friday, July 30, 2004, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

Viewing will be Tuesday at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the American

Lutheran Church in Chinook. Burial will be in the Kuper Memorial Cemetery of Chinook.

Herb was born on Oct. 18, 1906, at Great Falls to Albert and Lena (Olson) Williamson. He spent his life ranching 50 miles south of Chinook on the homestead of his parents. His father emigrated from Norway.

Herb added smaller homesteads to his ranch until he sold out in 1983 and moved to Chinook.

Herb married Margaret Kane in Havre on Dec. 30, 1930. Margaret died in 1993.

Survivors include his children, Martin (Arlene) of Chinook, Mary Ann Sheppard of Havre, Margie (Dan) McKeever of Helena and Agnes Fox of Gilbert, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Sevrie Green Olson of Big Sandy; and brother, Ed of Chinook.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dorothy Thornby in 1993; and brother, Gordon.

Memorials may be sent to the Chinook Senior Citizens Center or one's choice.
