GREAT FALLS - Jennie A. "Penny" Winter, 81, of Great Falls died of cancer Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Great Falls hospice.

A memorial service will be in Havre at the Fifth Ave Christian Church at 2 p.m. Monday. Cremation has taken place. Burial of ashes will

be Tuesday at the Malta Cemetery.

Penny was born to John and Anna Ebaugh on Sept. 30, 1922, in Malta. She married Frank Rucinsky in 1941. They had seven children. They later divorced.

In 1959, Penny married Laurence Walker and moved to Hogeland, where she raised her family and helped on the family farm.

In 1992, she married William "Bud" Winter. They lived in Havre before moving to Great Falls in 1995, where they made their home.

Penny drove school bus for many years for the Hogeland School District. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors, Eagles, and was a 4-H Leader for many years.

She enjoyed playing cards, reading, crocheting and cake decorating. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was the highlight of her life.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and husband, Laurence Walker.

Survivors include her husband, William "Bud" Winter of Great Falls; sons, Tom (Angela) Rucinsky of St. Louis, Mo., Jack (Margaret) Rucinsky of Seattle, Wash., David (Beth) Rucinsky of Havre, Dennis (Marilyn) Rucinsky of Oshkosh, Wis.; daughters, Margaret (Bob) Horn and Dee (Mike) Jennings, both of Havre, and Dona Keeler of Great Falls; stepson, George (Betty) Walker of Hogeland; stepdaughter, Jean Annis of Chinook; sister, Anna May Kinkade of Malta; brother, Harold (Courtney) Ebaugh of Big Fork; 25 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Peace Hospice of Montana in Great Falls.
