GREAT FALLS - Elizabeth "Betty" Price, 83, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at a Great Falls nursing home of natural causes.
A funeral liturgy will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church with burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery. A vigil will be held at 5:30 p.m. today at the O'Connor Memorial Chapel.
Betty was born on Oct. 2, 1920, at Cottonwood to John and Mary Verploegen. She was raised near and attended school at Cottonwood.
She married Henry L. Price on Sept. 27, 1947, at Great Falls. he died in 1984.
Betty was a homemaker and worked at the Club Cafeteria in Great Falls. She moved to Port Orchard, Wash., in 1951 and returned to Great Falls in 1964. She and Henry owned and operated the Rancho Motel in Great Falls from 1964-1967.
She was a member of St. luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and Legion of Mary.
She enjoyed embroidery, reading and camping.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Margaret Verploegen; and brothers, Carl, Tony and Paul Verploegen.
Survivors include her daughter, Rose (Bob) Latham of Great Falls; sons, Stan (Tena) Price of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ken (Stella) Price of Great Falls and Larry (Jan) Price of Atascadero, Calif.; sisters, Mary Verploegen and Hilda Verploegen, both of Ewa Beach Hawaii; brothers, Al Verploegen of Great Falls, Hans Verploegen and Bill Verploegen, both of Havre; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.
O'Connor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
