WINIFRED UHLICH obituary

Winifred Eldora Uhlich, 88, a longtime Harlem resident, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at a Great Falls hospital of natural causes.

Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Assembly Of God church in Harlem with the Rev. Gladys Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at the Harlem Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the service.

Winifred was born Oct. 2, 1915, at Devil's Lake, N.D., to J.O. and Elenora (Crosby) Jacobson. The family moved to West Fork, where she and her sisters grew up on a farm. She married Clark Nelson in 1935, and they moved to Harlem about 1940. They had three children before she was widowed in 1952. She married Rudy Uhlich in 1965 and they made their home in Harlem until last year, at which time they moved to Eagles Manor in Havre.

Winifred was an active member of the Assembly Of God church for many years, and had a very strong faith. She was a devoted wife and mother, and was loyal to her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Clark Nelson, and her eldest sister, Verna Spangler.

Winifred is survived by her husband, Rudy Uhlich, of Havre; her three children, Maxine Engdahl of Montara, Calif., and Joyce Schepp and Edward Nelson, both of Havre; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her youngest sister, Norma Puckett of Plentywood.

Memorials in Winifred's honor may be made to the Great Falls Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 127, Great Falls, MT 59403-0127.
