JUNE BAYNHAM SLATTUM obituary

June Baynham Slattum, 90, of Glasgow died Sunday, July 4, 2004, in Glasgow of natural causes.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Kingdom Hall in Glasgow, with George Knudson officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

June was born April 17, 1914, in Avondale to Warren and Gertrude (Langhaut) Thornton. She worked on the family farm and attended schools in Opheim. In 1934 June married Walter Alexander Baynham. He died in 1950. In 1953 she married Morris T. Slattum. He died several years ago.

June was a minister and had a very active ministry of the Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed conducting Bible studies and calling on people. She loved her flowers, loved to read and enjoyed photography, especially of flowers. She especially loved her grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her six brothers and sisters: Leonard Thornton, Robert Thornton, Dora Thornton Abern, Esther Thornton Abern, Dale Thornton and JoAnn Thornton Arneson.

She is survived by sons, Walter A. Baynham of Glasgow, John (Irene) Baynham of Circle Pines, Minn., James (Connie) Baynham of Havre; stepdaughters, Dorothy (Warren) Stensland of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Shirley (Wayne) Putz of Boulder City, Nev., and Myrtle (Louie) Straiter of Seattle; six grandchlildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Bell Mortuary in Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
