STANFORD - Clarence L. Lathrop, 71, of Stanford died Monday, July 5, 2004, in Great Falls Benefis East Medical Center after an extended illness.
Funeral liturgy will be 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lewistown. Interment will follow at Central Montana Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will begin today at the Creel Funeral Home of Lewistown.
Clarence was born March 28, 1933. in Havre, the son of Clarence and Avis M. (Nordgulen) Lathrop. He served his country in the U.S. Army during occupational service in Germany in the 1950s.
Clarence was a simple man who spent his life in the Havre, Stanford and Lewistown areas. He was a truck driver throughout most of his life. Clarence lived to fish and to spend time with his grandchildren. He loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, one brother and a nephew.
He is survived by daughters Cindy Bennett of Great Falls and Susan (Ron) Fox of Turner; son Derrick (Kirsten) Lathrop of Wahpeton, N.D.; his sister, Barbara Groseclose of Lewistown; six grandchildren and two nieces.
Memorials may be given in his name to a charity of the donor's choice.
Creel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
