WHITNEY SCHWAN obituary

Whitney M. Schwan, 16, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at a Great Falls hospital from injuries suffered in a vehicle accident on Saturday.

A prayer vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Jude's Catholic Church with her funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Jude with the Rev. Robert D. Grosch officiating.

Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the St. Jude Parish Center immediately following the services at the graveside.

Whitney was born on Feb. 23, 1988, in Havre to Daryl and Patti (Matter) Schwan. She was raised and educated in Havre and attended Havre High School. While in high school, Whitney participated on the swim team and in choir. She was looking forward to the upcoming sports season, because she was going to be a member of the Havre High School cheerleading squad.

Whitney enjoyed being with her friends, listening to music, being outdoors and playing girls fast pitch softball. She also enjoyed movies, dancing, buying clothes and talking on the phone.

Whitney was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, the Havre Youth Ministry of St. Jude, and had attended the Catholic Heart Work Camp.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Anton and Leona Schwan; maternal grandparents, Edward and Alta Matter; uncles, Andrew and Terry Schwan and Robert Partridge; and cousins, Carly Matter and Ryder Howie.

Survivors include her parents, Daryl and Patti Schwan of Havre; sisters, Renelle Schwan and Brooke Schwan, both of Havre; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorials in Whitney's honor may be made to Havre Girls Fast Pitch Softball Association, P.O. Box 323, Havre, MT 59501, or to the St. Jude Youth Ministry, P.O. Box 407, Havre, MT 59501.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
