Viola June Dunn, 86, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at a Havre hospital from a short illness.
Burial will be in Minnesota.
Viola was born on July 3, 1917, in Lawton, N.D., to Wade and Lula Bartel. In 1919, her father, sister Frieda and baby brother died of the flu epidemic. Viola and her mother moved to London, Minn., where Viola attended school. Her mother married Ray Bedford, who raised Viola as his own child until his death.
In 1935, Viola married Robert Dunn in Austin, Minn.
Viola moved to Havre to live near her daughter, Betty Fox, and grandchildren Wade and Teresa Fox. She worked at the Northern Montana Hospital in the housekeeping department until she retired. She was a resident of the Eagles Manor amongst her many friends.
Viola was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepfather, brother, sister, daughter Lois, and husband.
Survivors include her sons, Richard (Pat) Dunn, Glenville, Minn., and Darrel (Kathy) Dunn of Bloomington, Calif.; daughter, Betty Fox-Sterling (Ben) of San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
