Martha Mary (Naber) Davis, 95, a homemaker, died of natural causes on Saturday, May 29, 2004, in a Chinook nursing home.
No services are planned and cremation has taken place. Her ashes will be buried in the Kuper Cemetary in Chinook.
She was born in Frankfort, Germany, on Feb. 27, 1909, to John Naber Sr. and Clara Naber. She came to this country with her parents as a young child, and the family homesteaded on a farm north of Havre. She attended country school for several years and graduated from Havre High School.
She married Paul J. Davis of Chinook on Nov. 14, 1933. They purchased the family farm from her parents and farmed for many years.
While in Havre, Martha was an active member of St. Jude's Catholic Church. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, and the local Home Demonstration Club. She worked for F.A. Buttrey's store for a time, but after her marriage she was a homemaker, wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fritz, Charlie, and Fred; husband, Paul Davis; and infant daughter, Beverly.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Davis of Fresno, Calif., and Mardelle (Roger) Fromm of Great Falls; son, Larry (Carol) Davis of West Allis, Wis .; sister, Mary Myers of Palo Alto, Calif .; brother, John (Dolores) Naber Jr. of Cloverdale, Calif .; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Martha enjoyed baking and gardening, and loved being with her family.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Church or school, 440 7th Ave, Havre, MT.
