MILDRED V. LIDSTONE obituary

FORT BENTON - Mildred V. (Ojala) Lidstone, 92, of Big Sandy died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at a Fort Benton medical center of natural causes.

A memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeff Stoopes officiating. Burial will be in the Big Sandy Cemetery.

Mildred was born at Kenilworth to Joseph and Agnus (Orr) Drew on April 1, 1912. She graduated from the Big Sandy High School and Northern Montana College in Havre.

Mildred married William "Bill" Ojala in June 1935 and from this union, one son, Arlen, was born in 1937. Bill died in May 1971.

Mildred married Elmer Lidstone in September 1974 and he died in 1992.

Mildred taught school in and around Big Sandy for many years. She lived all of her life in the Big Sandy area except for the last few years in Fort Benton at the Sunrise Bluffs and The Missouri River Medical Center.

Survivors include her son, Arlen (Viola) Ojala of Sandpoint, Idaho; six stepchildren, Ramona Brownson of Lincoln, Neb., Elmer (Sonny) Lidstone of Carmichael, Calif., Don Lidstone of Hagerstown, Mass, Bonnie Murphy of Havre, Wanda Ulman of Reno, Nev., Thelma Hansen of Big Sandy; two grandsons; three stepgrandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
