LEWISTOWN - Kermit Owen, 66, died Monday, May 24, 2004.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Christian Church of Vista West, 8188 Zero Road, Casper, Wyo. Interment of cremated remains will be at 1 p.m. June 5 at city cemetery in Lewistown.
Kermit was born on Dec. 10, 1937, at Lewistown to Sheridan "Ted" and Helen (Turck) Owen. He graduated from Stanford high School in 1956. After high school, he attended Nebraska Christian College where he met Garnet Alene Parker.
Kermit and Garnet were married in August 1958. While attending college, Kermit ministered at the Church in Harlan, Iowa. Over the years he held several positions: assistant manager at Hesteds in Norfolk and South Omaha, Neb.; milk delivery in Omaha, heavy equipment operator for Judith Basin County; fire chief at Hobson; and as deputy sheriff in Judith Basin County.
Kerm went back into the ministry and finished college in 1981. Sine then, he had ministered to the Church in Jay Em, Wyo., Billings, Lewistown, Havre, Fall Creek, Ore., Madelia, Minn., and Casper, Wyo.
Kermit was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Garnet of Casper; daughter, Faye (Daniel) Crenshaw of Klamath Falls, Ore.; son, Curt (Laura) Owen of Big Sandy; five grandchildren; sister, Donna Owen of Vancouver, Wash.; and brother, Dale Owen of Billings.
Memorials may be made to Platte Valley Bible College, Boise Bible College or Little Rockies Christian Camp.
