MATTHEW KUHR obituary

CLINTON - Matthew Paul Kuhr, 25, died Friday, May 21, 2004, at his home in Clinton.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Activity Building at the Hill County fairgrounds in Havre.

Matthew was born on July 8, 1978,

to Pamela Sue and Peter Jurgen Kuhr in Havre. He grew up on the Squaw Butte Ranch south of Havre. He graduated from Havre High School in 1996. He then went to college at Montana State University-Northern. He graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in design drafting in 2000. He found a job he loved at Missoula Concrete Construction as a lead draftsman. While employed there, he designed and worked on such projects as the additions to Washington Grizzly Stadium and Osprey Stadium. His most recent project was designing concrete log homes.

After work, he enjoyed spending his evenings doing carpentry for neighbors and friends. Matthew enjoyed being outside and active, whether it was fishing, camping, canoeing, or working. When he came home to see relatives, he also enjoyed helping back at the ranch at brandings, riding horses and working with the livestock. He had also spent a lot of time making log furniture. He was in Boy Scouts and built a campground in Beaver Creek Park.

In 1998, he met Sheila Siefert and they were married on July 7, 2001, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They resided in Clinton. On Oct. 2, 2002, they had a son, Dylan James, he was the light of his life.

Matthew was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Louise May Siefert.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Kuhr; son, Dylan James Kuhr; parents, Pamela Kuhr and Peter Kuhr, both of Havre; sisters and brothers, Melissa (Jim) Litzinger of Havre, Jurgen (Sarah) Kuhr of Bozeman, Lucas Kuhr of Havre, Katie Kuhr of Havre, and Phillip Kuhr of Havre; paternal grandparents, Paul and Beverly Kuhr of Havre; maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Ruth Friede of Chinook; uncle, Steve Friede of Helena; aunts, Linda Friede of Chicago, Debbie (Bruce) Walters of Helena, and Kim (Will) Smith of Helena; and many cousins.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
