Conrad takes home North-East B divisional track titles

The North-East B divisional track meet may not have had the best weather conditions on Saturday in Great Falls, but that didn't matter to the Conrad Cowboys.

Conrad completed a clean sweep at Memorial Stadium, as it won both the girls and boys divisional titles.

The Conrad girls team finished with 80.5 points to edge second-place Cut Bank, which finished with 78 points. Malta came in third with 72.6 points.

Meanwhile, the Chinook Sugarbeeters had a solid showing, finishing in seventh place with 30.2 points.

The Beeters' lone individual champion was Brittany Williams. She easily captured the discus with a toss of 112-3. Williams also qualified for the state meet in the shot put, finishing fifth.

Crystal Roseberry also doubled up for the Beeters. She finished second to Cut Bank's Amber Aikens in both the long jump and the triple jump. Roseberry flew 15-10 in the long jump and leaped 33-7 in the triple jump .

The Beeters also advanced Georgia Barber and Whitney Lybeck in the high jump. Both athletes finished tied for fourth with a final attempt of 4-4.

The day wasn't quite so kind to the Chinook boys team. Chad Beck will be the only Beeter representing Chinook at state. Beck finished sixth in the 3,200 meters.

The State B track meet will begin on Friday afternoon in Missoula.
