Wanda Lucille (Robinson) Osterberg, 73, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at her home of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Messiah Lutheran Church with
the Rev. Rodney Mruk offici- ating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the service.
Wanda was born July 28, 1930, at the family home in Garfield Township, Michigan to Everett D. and Tillie (Hahn) Robinson. She attended school in Engadine Michigan and graduated from Engadine High School in 1948.
Wanda married Leroy Osterberg July 5, 1952 in Engadine. The couple made their home in Newberry, Michigan, until they moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1957. In 1958 the couple moved to Coleraine, Minnesota and in 1966 to Havre. Wanda was employed by the Havre School District as a secretary from 1968-1969, as an admissions clerk for Northern Montana Hospital from 1969 - 1974, as a secretary for the Department of Public Welfare from 1974-1980, and as an administrative assistant for the Montana Vocational Rehabilitation Service from 1981 until she retired in 1987.
Wanda enjoyed traveling, reading, bowling, playing pool and attending concerts and plays. She loved people and her volunteer work at the Senior Citizen's Center. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church where she was involved in many capacities throughout the years, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Havre VFW Auxiliary, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Osterberg in 1998; son, Erik Osterberg in 1989; sister, Ethel Wood Thompson; and brother, Herman Robinson.
Survivors include her son, Kevin (Marilyn) Osterberg of Havre; daughter, Laura L. Lee of Chinook; four grandsons; brother, Harold Robinson of Newberry, Mich.; sisters, Alma Allen and Louise Mattson of Newberry, Mich., and Alice King of Escanaba, Mich.; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Wanda's honor may be made to the Havre-Hill County Library, 402 Third St., Havre, MT 59501, the North Central Senior Citizen's Center, 2 West Second St., Havre, MT 59501, or to the Messiah Lutheran Church, 417 20th St., Havre, MT 59501.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
