ROUNDUP - Ronald Lee Dahlquist, 66, of Roundup died of respiratory disease Sunday, April 18, 2004, at a Roundup hospital.

A memorial service will be held at the Cremation and Funeral Gallery, 29 8th St. West, Billings at 2 p.m. Friday.

Ronald was born June 22, 1937, in

Harlem to Homer and Kathleen Dahlquist. He lived and attended grade school in Zurich. He attended high school in Chinook. At 17, he joined the Air Force and was stationed mostly in California. After being discharged from the Air Force, he headed for Texas to custom combine.

He met his first wife, LaWanda Youts, in Lubbock, Texas. They came back home to Montana. Later he was divorced and married Wanda Gerke. In 1983, he divorced again and married Darlene Lembcke. They were still married at the time of his death.

Ronald had several jobs in different parts of the country but always brought his family back to Montana. He worked as a mechanic and trucker driver most of his life. His last job was with Empire Sand and Gravel in Billings.

Ronald enjoyed his family and loved being with them. If he was around you could always hear 10 jokes in a row and lots of laughter and stories. Someone knew him, no matter where he went. He would walk up to anyone and just start visiting. He was involved in Little League for many years and was his son Clint's biggest fan. He was very proud of his son Kelly's boxing. He loved taking his boys fishing. His daughters were the apple of his eye. They could do anything and he would just smile. He always had a special soft spot in his heart for his dear aunt Caroline Holloway. They visited by phone a lot and she looked forward to him calling.

He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Dahlquist; and mother, Kathleen Dahlquist.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Roundup; sons, Clint Dahlquist (Leah) and Kelly Dahlquist, both of Billings; daughter, Tammy Dahlquist of Roundup; stepdaughter, Wendy (Jason) Livingston of Nashville, Tenn.; stepsons, Willy Hein of Roundup, Randy (Laura) Holm and Danny Holm, both of Billings; stepdaughter, Marci Holm; brother, Dale (Helen) Dahlquist of Stevensville; sister, Claudia Nace of Billings; three grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.
