JUDY GRAY obituary

HAYS - Judith Ann "Judy" Gray, whose Indian name was Eagle Feather Woman, 63, died Friday, April 9, 2004, at a Great Falls hospital after a lengthy illness.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. Paul's Recreational Center at Hays. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Mission Catholic

Church. Burial will be at St. Paul's Mission.

Judy was born Sept. 1, 1940, to Bertha Gone and Paul Myrick. She grew up in Hays and, except for short stays in California and Washington state, always lived in Hays.

She met Gordon Gay in 1962 and they were married in 1963.

Judy had a generous heart and welcomed many into her home. Many of her nieces, nephews and grandchildren lived with her and she helped raise all her grandchildren.

In recent years, her most favorite pastime was bingo. She traveled the Western United States just to hear the word bingo yelled in other Indian languages. She enjoyed raising her grandchildren, watching movies, pro rodeos, the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers on satellite TV, rummage sales, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, coffee and cigarettes.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Gray; granddaughter, Erin Lewis; fathers, Paul Myrick and James B. Snow; sisters, Nona "Pixie" Pitkanon and Winona Gives; great-grandmother, Pretty Girl; godmother, Camilla Gone Blueshield; brothers, William "Billy" Myrick and Gilbert Snow.

Survivors include her mother, Bertha Snow; sisters, Deanna Boe, Alicia Werk, Elinor Sullivan, Melvina "Tiny" Snow and Louella NezPerce Werk; brothers, Jim "Snowman" Snow, Kermit Snow and Elwell "Ozzie" Snow; children, Michele (Donnie Brockie) Lewis, Neil (Sherry Shambo) Gray, Jari Lynn (Evan) Werk, Stacy Jo (Joe Ironman Jr.) Gray and Gordon "Oly" Charlo) Gray; adopted daughters, Kylee Beth Stiffarm, Jana (David Begay) Grayboy, Karlene Cochran and Misty Stiffarm; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine adopted grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
