Andrew John "Andy" Linie 74, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at a Great Falls hospital due to natural causes.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Alfred Ebel officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery.
Andrew was born on Oct. 10, 1929, in Havre to Mack and Foresta (Guerra) Linie. He was raised and educated in Havre and graduated from Havre High School. Andy enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean conflict until his honorable discharge.
He was employed at Ryan's Wholesale in Havre, the Vita Rich Dairy and at MSU-Northern.
On April 12, 1958, he married Patricia Ebel at St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre.
Andy was fiercely proud of his Italian heritage. He was an avid fan of the Havre Blue Pony's, The Northern Lights and The Green Bay Packers. Andy also enjoyed rooting for and attending the East-West Shrine Game for over 50 years. The Shrine games have always been a Linie family tradition. Andy loved his classic '46 Chevrolet truck and "giving the business" to friends and family alike.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia in 1999; two sisters; one brother; and one grandson.
Survivors include his daughters Debbie (Kent) McCormick and Andrea (Brent) Melle, both of Havre; sons, Rick(Carrie) Linie and Gary Linie, both of Havre; sisters, MaryAnn Hanson and Marguerite Aevermann, both of Havre; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials in Andy's honor may be made to the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation, Blue Pony Stadium Fund, P.O. Box 7791, Havre, MT 59501.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
