Hinebauchs capture titles as Chinook finishes fourth at B-C divisional

Local high schools had strong showings at this past weekend's Northern B-C wrestling divisional in Chester, with several individual placing and qualifying for this weekend's All-Class State Wrestling Tournament.

Class B-C powerhouse Conrad won the team title by 3.5 points with 202.5 team points. Rival Cut Bank finished second with 199 points. The Chinook Sugarbeeters finished in a solid fourth place with 124 team points.

The Beeters were led by a pair of first-place finishes from Evan and Eric Hinebauch. Evan Hinebauch scored a 5-2 win over Cut Bank's Bob Greenwood at 160 pounds. Eric Hinebauch pinned Big Sandy's Alex Thornton in the finals at 189 pounds.

Chinook also got second-place finishes from Cameron Overcast at 105 pounds and Kris Parsons at 130 pounds. Brandon Zam (98 pounds), Matt Finley (119 pounds), Jeremy Painter (145 pounds) and Troy Kuntz (Heavyweight) all picked up third-place finishes.

Other local placers include: Chester's Shane Gagnon with a second at 215 pounds and Riley DeVries with a fourth at 160 pounds, Harlem's Connor Green with a second at 98 pounds and Michael Shields with a third at 152, Big Sandy's Justin Boyce with a fourth at 125 pounds and Ross Beaudette with a fourth at 145 pounds.
